

Pizarro Jr., Ricardo 88, of Parkland, Florida, passed away on July 12, 2016. Ricardo is survived by his wife, Ada Pizarro; son Dana Pizarro of West Chester, PA; son, David Pizarro of Tampa, FL; son Douglas Pizarro of Baltimore, MD; daughter, Linda Pizarro-Crawford of Boca Raton, FL and daughter Lisa Pizarro of Baltimore, MD; he is also survived by his grandchildren Derek Pizarro, Kristen Pizarro and Eric Crawford . After obtaining undergraduate and master’s degrees from Springfield College, he taught physical education in Baltimore County before going overseas to teach in Germany for three years. A return to the United States took him to Long Island, NY for teaching and coaching. In 1960 he moved the family back to Catonsville, MD where he pursued his passion of teaching PE and coaching. Although he coached many different sports at Woodlawn High School for over thirty years, his passion was soccer. He invested many hours as a coach, a player and a referee promoting soccer in the Baltimore area. Upon his retirement from the Baltimore County Public Schools he continued to work part time as a soccer coach for several local counties in the Baltimore –Washington D.C. area. He was inducted in the Maryland Soccer Hall of Fame and received many accolades for the lifelong promotion of soccer. Interment will be at the National Cemetery for Veterans in Lake Worth, FL..
