Robert V. Paganucci (Bob) passed away at the age of 88 at his home in Boca Raton, Florida on January 24, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jean (Esposito), and their children William, Donna, Anne (Jeff), Robert (Marianne), and Francis (Pamela). He is also survived by their nine grandchildren (Jessica, Kelly, James, Nina, Kristina, Danielle, Julia, Lauren and Joy); his brother Victor (Cheryl), and sister-in-law, Christine Paganucci. He is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Frances Paganucci; in-laws, Joseph and Dorothy Esposito; his brother Edward, his sisters Theresa Sheehy and Mary Ann Paganucci, and his brother-in-law John Sheehy.
Bob was born in Brooklyn, NY, on June 22, 1934. After honorably serving in the Army, he married his sweetheart Jean on August 3, 1957. They met when they were both 16 at a dance at St. Mary Gate of Heaven, in Ozone Park, NY where they later married. They eventually settled in Montvale, N.J. where they raised their 5 children and where he was a very involved Dad and neighbor.
Bob was a man of many talents, had a big personality, lots of energy and was a very creative soul. He was able to pursue his passion for design with a career at the New York Mirror, IBM, and Ciba-Geigy before branching off on his own as a partner with Salpeter Paganucci, Inc. and then as the founder of Paganucci Design, Inc. His achievements included many design awards and designations. One of his prized legacies is his beautiful beach home in Montauk, NY which he designed and where family and friends continue to gather for many wonderful memories.
Bob, a very dedicated husband and family man was admired and loved by many. His care and passion for his wife Jean, with Alzheimers was unparalleled. He was a generous soul, a mentor and teacher to many whom he met along the way including his students when he was a visiting professor for several years at Pratt Institute.
Bob was multi-talented and a very prolific artist and writer. He could converse on any subject, was interested in learning and speaking new languages, wrote many songs, books, and poems. Later in life he persevered and spent a great deal of his time painting, even when it seemed impossible physically, he managed to create some of his best and most diverse work. His homes are adorned with his paintings.
A Mass will be held for Bob on February 24, 2023 at 11:15 am at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church at 125 Half Hollow Road, Deer Park, NY 11729. A funeral will follow at Saint Charles Cemetery of the Resurrection at 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
