February 21, 1937 – April 17, 2025
Robert “Dan” Phillips, age 88, of Parkland, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025. Born on February 21, 1937, in Miami, Florida. Dan was the beloved son of Eschol Graham Phillips and Evelyn Cail.
Dan proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean War. Following his service, he pursued a long and fulfilling career as an IT Programmer with Miami Dade Junior College, where he eventually retired.
He is survived in death by his first wife, Linda, and was preceded in death by his second wife, Brenda, as well as Maureen, his loving companion of 14 years. Dan’s life was deeply enriched by his family. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Hinton (and husband Joe), and his sons, Randy Phillips (and wife Heather) and Ryan Phillips (and wife Maygen). Lisa Brock, Maureen’s daughter, also held a special place in Dan’s heart and life.
Dan’s legacy continues through his grandchildren—Kristi, Melanie, Brandon, Lindsey, Taylor, Dylan, Skyler, McKenna, Jordan, Morgan, and Reed—and ten cherished great-grandchildren.
A man of simple joys, Dan found happiness riding his John Deere “tractor” mower, tending lovingly to his knockout rose bushes, and savoring quiet mornings with the USA Today newspaper. He adored his two loyal dogs, Cisco and Mo, and took pride in the peaceful yard he created and cared for.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Babione Funeral Home in Boca Raton, Florida. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of a man who was deeply loved and will be forever remembered.
