In loving memory of Robert K Wood, who passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026 surrounded by his two daughters and grandchildren. He was a loving father and proud Marine veteran. He worked hard all his life providing for his family. He had his own asphalt paving and concrete company in New Jersey. He relocated to Florida in 1984 to work for and retired from Publix. Robert enjoyed his retirement by playing and watching sports. He also loved going to the horse races at Pompano Park Racetrack. He was an avid player of the Lotto.
He is survived by his sister, Jane Wood of Trenton NJ, and the children he raised who are his daughters, Robin Shane of Boca Raton and Bobbie Ritacco of Boynton Beach along with two stepdaughters Sharon McCarty and April Hanyecz. He was grandpop to seven grandchildren and great grandpop to five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth P Wood and Helen Louise Rugarber.
A service honoring Robert’s life will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 9am at South Florida National Cemetery.
