Robin Roberts passed away suddenly on October 13, 2026, at the age of 69, following a courageous battle with bladder cancer. A resident of Delray Beach, FL, she fought hard until the end, facing her illness with the determination to keep living life on her own terms. Even in her final days, Robin was looking ahead, making plans to travel on her next adventure with her beloved companion, Jim Knight.
Robin had a love for life and a spirit of adventure that remained with her throughout her journey. While travel brought her joy and gave her memories to treasure, nothing meant more to her than her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Alicia (Mercogliano) Holmgren, a loving mother-in-law to Ryan Holmgren, and a proud grandmother to her cherished granddaughters, Charlotte and Estelle Holmgren. Her family was her greatest source of love and happiness, and the time they shared together was among life's most precious gifts.
Robin leaves behind a lifetime of memories, the love of her family, and a lasting place in the hearts of those who knew her. Her extensive network of close friends from all stages of her life is a true testament to who she was - she loved hard and provided support and positivity to so many.
A celebration of Robin's life will be planned for November, with close family and friends gathering in New Jersey to honor her memory and celebrate the life she lived.
In lieu of flowers, Robin requested that donations be made to her granddaughters' college funds, helping to support their futures and allowing her love for them to continue making a difference in their lives.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
