Longtime Woodfield Country Club resident (1991-2024), Ronni Lynn Fox-Harrell of the Hamptons community, wife of Dr. Mack Harrell and mother of Ashley, Evan and Alex Harrell passed away on Sunday, January 14 after a valiant fight with ALS. She was the beloved grandmother of Ezra, Rhys and Carmen and an active member of our community for 33 years, playing tennis for Woodfield teams in the 90’s and at Swim and Racket thereafter. She served Palm Beach County’s elderly and at-risk elementary school children as a volunteer counselor for the Faulk Center for nearly 20 years. After Masters training in Social Work at the University of North Carolina, she married Mack in Chapel Hill’s Forest Theatre in 1977 and went on to found the first Minnesota in-school daycare center for teen mothers at Como Park High School in St. Paul, before moving to Durham, North Carolina in 1981, Jacksonville, Florida in 1985 and Boca in 1990. She was known by Woodfield residents and staff for her disarming laugh, her ever-present smile and her love for the Miami Heat, University of Florida and Duke University athletics, Arsenal soccer, Coco Gauff and tennis, the elderly, at risk children, friends and family and yuca rolls at Woodfield eating venues. She will be missed by all, but especially by her husband of 46 years, Mack, her three children and her neighbors. Funeral services will be at the Boca Raton Mausoleum on 4th Avenue, next to Temple Beth El at 9:30 AM on Friday January 26. Donations to South Florida Dachshund Rescue, 4 KIDS of Florida and the ALS Association can be made, in lieu of flowers, in Ronni’s name.
