Rose Marie Rieske (nee Palazzolo) went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her beloved husband Harvey on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. She was constantly surrounded by her loving family and dear friends during this transition.
Rose leave behind her daughter, Patty (Chuck) Van Buskirk, grandson Kyle Van Buskirk (Christine), granddaughter Kelly (Bigad) Shaban and 4 great-grandchildren, Reagan, Wyatt, Parker and Finn Van Buskirk.
Rose has been blessed by many special relative and dear friends of which she shared a special bond, especially her sister, Grace Miller, her goddaughter, Linda Rauch, niece, Kim Janeski and nephew Tim Miller as well as her sister, Joan Latila and brother, Eddie Ellerby. Rose also leaves behind her dearest friend and partner-in-crime, Annie Batus who provided love, laughter and friendship for so many years as well as her gambling partner, Yvette Williams.
Rose was born on September 27, 1927 to Matilda and Samuel Palazzolo. In 1947, when she was 19 years old she married her soulmate, Harvey Rieske of which they shared 61 loving years of marriage until his passing in 2007. Rose and Harvey were honest, hard workers and definitely were the “dynamic duo”. They worked 7 days a week while owning their own business “Harv’s Hardware” in Mt. Clemens, MI. In 1972 they moved to Boca Raton and owned the Boca Raton Motel until their retirement in 1979.
Rose and Harvey loved spending time and travels with their family. Cruises and gambling junkets were their favorites. In 1996 they downsized to a condo in Lake Park, FL and enjoyed all the LHTE friends and activities as Rose was an active member of the Social Committee.
Rose always had a beautiful smiled, a loving heart, a great sense of humor and a positive attitude. She was a strong independent and loving women who was always full of life. She also loved to gamble and taught her grandkids and later the great grandkids the fine art of counting by rolling dice.
