I guess I'm about 7 years too late here, but as they say, better late than never.

Dr. Wagy was my teacher at St. Andrews from roughly 1982-1985, and her presence at the school was hugely important for me. The fact that St. Andrews even offered computer programming classes at that time was somewhat uncommon, and having those courses certainly helped getting me into Carnegie Mellon. 

Dr. Wagy also got me my one and only job in highschool, doing database work for Braemar Isle condos (where she lived, of course)!

I've had a long career in tech at this point and I often think about Dr. Wagy and the role she played in that.

Ruth:  steady, friendly, amazing cookie baker and sharer.  I remember her so well when she persuaded David Jones and me that there would be uses for email, even in school, and that a mouse was not a creature trying to confuse us.  Loved that lady!

I remember Ruth, well. She was always positive and up beat here at Saint Andrew's.  I ate many of her cookies, more than I should have, and have missed them since her retirement. I am saddened to hear of her passing and will think of her with fondness. May she rest in peace.

It is hard to find a role model today, but that is what Ruth was to me and to those who where lucky enough to be part of her life.  Grace, determination, strength, compasion and above all, Love for her family and friends. Thank you Ruth for being such a wonderful part of our lives. Forever in my heart

I have fond memories of spending time at Ruth's house as a child with my family! She was a kind, fun-loving person and I send love and peace to her sons, Jim and Steve.

How often are we lucky enough to know someone with whom we really connect?  That someone in our lives was Ruth. She brought joy, intellect, compassion, warmth and so much more to our personal and professional relationships. We shared so many wonderful times together over almost 50 years of lasting friendship: celebrating life together, watching families grow up, travelling to exciting places, exchanging important ideas (and also special recipes), mostly laughing and sometimes crying together. Knowing Ruth was to be constantly uplifted by her generosity of spirit. She will always be a part of us.

Years ago, Ruth was my best friend in Connecticut.  She taught me so many things.  I will miss her but know her wonderful mind must be somewhere as it is too dynamic to be lost. Claire Ford  CT

I would like to share two memories of Ruth Wagy from many years ago.
Hostess with the Mostess:  My mother was a close friend of Ruthie. When I got married on June 25, 1967, Ruth offered to do the rehearsal dinner the night before.  Of course the table was splendid but the surprise of surprises was that Ruthie served BEEF WELLINGTON!  The guests were awed.
Technology Maven: Ruth was always first to know that a new technology was coming down the pike.  Whether for the kitchen or the classroom or anything else, Ruth had it first and explained it to the rest of us.  In the 1970s this included the microwave and some kind of stove top burner that cooked food without getting hot. Sometimes it was a keeper and sometimes not, but Ruth always did the product launch.
It was a privilege to have Ruth and her family as part of our family many years ago.

Ruth was such a gentle soul and she had a special impact on everyone she came into contact with.  She is now with her beloved John.

To the end of her days Ruth remained a favorite person of mine.  I am so glad I got to talk with her only a couple of weeks before she died.  Her kindness, her interest, her enthusiasm, her lovely voice, where all there, unchanged.  And I am so glad she knew when her time had come, and was able to depart with her children by her side. She had the immense reward of ending her life in the bosom of her family. It is what she deserved.

Saint Ruth, as I always called her will be missed by so many people.  I learned so much from her:  thinking more positively, which I try to do, and never saying anything negative about anyone, which I will keep trying - especially when I think of our 30 years as true friends.

I will always remember Ruth for her cheerful smile and upbeat attitude.  She blessed my life and I am grateful to have known her.

My thoughts are with Ruth, Jim, Steve, and the Wagy family. What a wonderful woman who taught many both in and out of school. Peace. Bob L.
