I know that I am three years too late on this news but it doesn’t make it any less heartbreaking! I was watching tv and saw a mom struggling to leave her baby at daycare and I remember exactly how that felt! I struggled so bad with the thought of leaving my son (7 years ago) in someone else’s care.   And then I met Mrs. Sarita. Instantly, I knew that she and her staff were the right people to leave my most prized possession with. She made me feel so comfortable and I could see a genuine love for all of her kids at Montessori international. My son was no exception. He was loved by her and Mrs Irene in the infant room and I’ll forever be greatful that I met such an amazing person. I googled her name because I wanted to share a picture of my son with her now and instead I’m confronted with devastating news. For 7 months, she cared for our family by loving our son well and I’ll forever be greatful that God allowed us to cross paths. My deepest condolences to all that have felt the loss of this amazing soul. And especially to her two boys. I’m so saddened to know she is no longer here. RIP Sarita. You are sorely missed.

Montessori International is a multitude of symbols for many people of various backgrounds.  It was the school that gave so many children a great head start in the world, it was a friendly and open job environment for young teachers, and it was the office of a truly fantastic woman named Sarita Quadros.  For me, it was all of these things and so much more.  

For twenty-six years, that school was home to me.  That fantastic woman was my second mother.  Every time I walked though those doors, be it as a four year old kid ready to learn or a thirty year old man visiting town, it was a safe haven.  She was stern, caring, understanding, and nurturing.  She saw potential in me and made me feel like I was the most important person in the world, while at the same time keep my feet firmly planted on the ground.  Sarita let me know that the world had plenty of opportunities even for little troublemakers like me.  She knew me better than most of my biological family did.  She could read me no matter how old or distant I became.  I was her little outsider and she loved me for it as much as I loved her for being my mentor figure. 

There is nothing in my life or career that is not touched in some way by my Ms. Sarita. I determine things logically because of her. The reason I'm writing this is because of the technical skills that Sarita Quadros started me on.  My high school students are held up to Montessori standards.  Over my desk is a photo of Maria Montessori that has always inspired me to bestow the lessons I learned onto my students.  That photo means so much more now.  

The last time I spoke to her was in December when I called her to announce that my wife was pregnant.  She was the first one that I called. I am glad that the last memory I have of her is hearing her voice filled with the same joy that she brought to so many people.  She is gone from this world, but she will never leave my heart.  I love you, Ms. Sarita.

I just spoke with this angel and didn't know why she wasn't returning my calls and my friend just told me the news. I am devastated. I will make you proud and sorry for any disappointments I have caused you recently. Love you and the world is missing someone who gave the world much needed love and life. You were one of a kind and I just don't know what to do or say. Complete shock. You always told me to sleep with the angels, and I know you are with them right now.

There are no words. I've been in complete shock. My heart goes out to Bobby and Thomas, she loved you boys so much. What an honor to have a mother who is loved by so many. Brittney and I are saddened by this great loss.  You were such a great influence on my daughter's life.  I remember many things during Brittney's time at the Montessori.  I will mention two in particular (1) The graduation ceremony when the children used sign language to sign "I'm Everything I am Because You Loved Me".  My daughter still signs today.  (2)  The graduation ceremony where the children recited "The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part."  That thought stays with me to this day.  I will miss stopping by to see your always smiling face.

Sarita, you left a legacy behind with me...One that I will never forget. Montessori International was my second home and you always welcomed me with open arms and I am eternally grateful for that. Sarita I am heartbroken. I can't believe I will never see you again, never hear your lovely voice. I'm so blessed to have been able to spend time with you that one last night. A week before Sarita's passing I  sent her a text Thanking her for all the good that she brought into my family member's lives. Little that I knew that it would be my last chance to do so in person. My mind still refuses to believe that she is no longer here with us...

Sarita, I first met you when I was 18.  I had a bleached bang and flannel shirt.   You looked past that and saw what a great person I was and gave me a chance to work for you.    That experience was in valuable as now I have my three kids and from the knowledge I gained am a better mom.     Through my growing pains you were there for me to offer support.  I will cherish all of the good memories.   I know you are looking down on us all.

Family and friends of Sarita, my deepest thoughts and prayers are with you. Sarita was one of the most amazing women I have met in my life. I was a student at Montessori international about 20 years ago and Sarita was the first woman to make an impact in my life in education. She was there for myself as well as my younger sister for many years, even after we graduated preschool. I remember on my first day of kindergarten Sarita was very nervous about how I would do in school, so she came to check on me during recess to make sure I was doing okay. Through the years I ended up moving to Texas but would still come to visit Sarita at Montessori international when I was in Florida. About two years ago when I arrived to see her i saw that she still had photos of me and my little sister in her office. She was a very special person to me and my family that I still to this day tell people about, I am beyond heart broken to hear this news.

I cannot remember life before Sarita, and life without her already feels strange. As a child, she taught me self-control and self-respect. As a teenager, she held me accountable to my words, showed me how to be responsible for others, and challenged me to live up to the potential she saw in me. She celebrated every milestone in my life, and when I was near to graduating college, she sat down with me in my mother's backyard and helped me sort out the next steps toward my future. I had been working as a nanny and babysitter, and she was the one who said I should start a business. She equipped me with the resources and advice I needed, and she believed in my success. It's an award-winning business today, but it wouldn't exist if it weren't for Sarita. I'm who I am and I'm where I am because of her. She was an example of commitment, of unwavering support for me and I know for many others as well. But truly, her wise counsel and her loyalty were rooted in her love. Sarita loved with her whole heart and it was evident in everything she did. I love her still, so much, and I'm grateful to carry so many memories of her. From little things like choosing makeup to momentous times like helping me reconcile with others, she's had her arms around me for 27 years. Many of her ways have become my ways, and I'm so grateful. She was so generous with her love. I called her "Aunt Sarita" but she was a second mother to me and to so many others. I want to emulate her generosity, her poise, and her faith in the potential of others, especially children. May we all emulate what we most admired in her; there is much to choose from.

You were 18 when we met.  I trusted you with my children, not an easy trust to earn.  We grew as great friends and cheered their successes as family.  We've laughed like school girls, cried like fools. We shared so muchwe grew up together, in our adult lives.  I hold the fondest of memories and will carry you with me, forever in my heart.  I'm here for Thomas and Bobby and they know it.  Rest easy my friend.  Young angels are waiting for you to teach them to fly; you're going to be busy.

Sarita was one of the first strong female role models in my life. Her kindness, attention to detail, sense of humor, and her immense love for her students was unparalleled.

Montessori International is one of the most precious things that has impacted our children's lives thanks to the dedication and professionalism of a talented educator, Ms. Sarita, of her devoted staff and of the continuous support of two terrific young men, Thomas and Bobby.

Our interaction started a few years ago on the phone while searching for a great preschool. From the short conversation to set up the appointment for a tour of the premises, we already knew that we needed look no further. We adopted Montessori International ever since, and our second daughter eventually joined big sister who had been learning there exponentially.
With a name like Sarita, the meaning of which is 'Princess', no wonder it felt magical and regal to be at Montessori International each day of the week!

We would like to express our deepest sympathy to the family, friends and alumni of Montessori International. Our thoughts and prayers are with you! Miss Sarita had extraordinary gifts in her influence on children.  She naturally commanded an audience and a following, like royalty.  She had an eye for detail, like no other.  She was the voice and strength for children who had no voice.  I can't  imagine leaving my babies in the care of anyone else. 

Sarita's influence will go beyond the students that she taught, it will out reach to their children and their children and so on. She is a legacy in her own right.  One who will remain in many hearts for a lifetime.
