Susan Rose Rosenberg, 68, of Boca Raton passed away suddenly on Monday, June 11, 2018 at her home. Susan was born in Oceanside, NY, on March 13, 1950, a daughter of the late Lionel Gillespie and Marilyn Barrett. Susan worked as an Optician for many years, and was the first female president of the Optician Association in Cleveland. A devout Catholic, Susan was very active in the Church where for many years she coordinated the Alter servers at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Boca Raton. Susan was also a board member of the Everglades Terrier Club and once an early member of Horses and the Handicapped. She was instrumental in introducing Men's Lacrosse to the Pope John Paul High School athletic program. Susan was a prolific and accomplished Nantucket basket weaver. Surviving Susan is her loving husband, Dr. Mark Rosenberg, her son Josh, and daughter Courtney. Also surviving her are her siblings James Barrett, Megan Rich, Joan Stoner, Robert Gillespie and Kenneth Moore. A lifelong animal lover, she is also survived by her Bedlington terrier Jack; her Siamese cat Chairman Meow; and miniature donkey Abigail.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 18, 2018, at The Gardens Mausoleum, 4103 N Military Trail, Boca Raton, FL 33431. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 A.M.
