

Tafari Dante Smith, born in Bronx, New York, on December 24, 2004, later relocated to plantation, Florida, and then to Boca Raton, Florida. A significant part of his journey was his relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, which contributed to the favor of GOD he received during is short Journey of his life. He departed on August 12, 2026, at the age of 21.
Tafari leaves behind Mom, Velma Thompson; one brother, Fabian; stepfather Jim; step sisters Diane, Irina, Illana and Rhianna, cousins Nev, Cruz, Kim, Brittany, Brionna, Daniel, Serena, Wakeem, Kimora, Thavia and a host of cousins from Jamaica, England, and America Four Uncles: Paul, Samuel, Hector, and Maurice. Five aunts: Aunt Butin, Pauline, Rachel, Anita, and Candy. Along with Grandfather, Wessel.
His early years in elementary, middle, and high school were an important part of his journey. He was never afraid to try new things and approached every challenge with determination, resilience, and perseverance, always striving to accomplish the goals he set for himself. During elementary school, he played soccer and Taekwondo, continuing both sports into middle school. In high school, his dedication to academics earned him a place on the honor roll and a scholarship to attend Lynn University.
As a young man, Tafari was known for his quiet, sweet, and humble nature. In his quiet moments, he would immerse himself in music and engage in boxing, a hobby that provided him with a space for reflection. Tafari’s kindness and warm smile were renowned, instantly brightening any room he entered. His radiant presence was so captivating that those who knew him felt the joy he brought into their lives. Tafari’s natural aptitude for school was evident, a divine gift that showcased his humility and gratitude. This talent led him to pursue an associate degree in piloting and aviation management, with only a year left to earn his bachelor’s degree.
Tafari shared a special bond with his mother, step father and brother. They held an important place in his life. Throughout his life, their love and support remained a source of strength, and the memories they shared will be cherished forever.
Visitation will be held at Babione Funeral Home, 10060 Calle Comercio Drive, Boca Raton, Florida, on September 5, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Fairway Memorial Gardens, 1391 NW 45th St, Deerfield Beach, Florida, on September 5, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
