Thomas Tom Barry Hodde

Hodde, Thomas Barry passed away unexpectedly on Friday November 15 at the age of 56. He was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to south Florida as a youngster in 1958. Tom grew up in Boca Raton, attended Boca Raton Elementary, Boca Raton Middle, and graduated from Boca Raton Senior High School in 1975.

Tom was interested in alternative modes of transportation. As a teenager, he was a motorcycle enthusiast. Later in his life he had a passion for flying and became a flight instructor at Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida. Most recently he worked several years for the TSA at Fort Lauderdale International Airport.

Tom was a very witty and fun person to be around. He will be missed dearly.

Preceded in death by his father Henry Busch Hodde Sr., mother Patricia Kessler Hodde, and brother Henry Busch Hodde, Jr., he is survived by two sisters, Janet Hodde-Vargas (Luis) of Corrales, NM and Susan Hodde Dancy (Robert) of Taylors, SC, and four brothers, Richard (Debbie) of Charlotte, NC , John of Boca Raton, Michael (Betsy) of Delray Beach, and Brian Hodde of Bismarck, ND. Tom also leaves behind Nancy Thorpe Hodde (Henry Busch, Jr.), five nieces, four nephews and two great-nephews.

Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 pm, Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at Babione Funeral Home, 1100 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton. A funeral service will be 1:30pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Boca Raton Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Babione Funeral Home. www.babionesouthflorida.com
