Viola E. "Vi" Smith, 89, of Wilmington, Ohio, formerly of Boca Raton Florida, passed away peacefully, Saturday evening, October 15, 2011, at her residence. She was born February 20, 1922, in Grove City, Ohio. She was the daughter of Anton and Rosie Patzer. She was a member of St. Brigid Church. She is survived by four daughters, and sons-in-law, Catherine Manning, Middletown, Ohio, Betsy (Donald) Young, Middletown, Ohio, Linda (Tom) Aust, Reno, Nevada, and Mary Harris-Smith, Coconut Creek, Florida. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Eleanor Monaghan, New Orleans, Louisiana, a brother and sister-in-law, Carl (Nancy) Patzer, Grove City, Ohio, by numerous nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James F. Smith, on June 9, 2011, and by a brother Paul Patzer. Vi and her husband Jim spent many years overseas flying as he was the American captain of Air Lanka (Sir Lanka). Their travels were extensive with many wonderful adventures throughout the world. Vi and Jim enjoyed life to the fullest and shared their love and amazing stories with their families. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at St. Brigid Church, in Xena, Ohio. Entombment was at the Boca Raton Mausoleum, Boca Raton, Florida, on Friday, October 21, 2011.
