Barbara Ann Powell

Born in Guilford County, NC on the second of January 1940, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Ellis and Mary Alma Cooke Holland. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Powell, Sr. and a step-son, John Powell, Jr.

Barbara was a retired beautician who owned and operated her own shop for many years. She was also a Certified Nursing Assistant. Barbara was a member of the High Point Seventh-day Adventist Church, She was an avid collector of many types of mementos and found peace gardening in her yard. She especially enjoyed having a slice of fruit cake and coffee with family and friends.

Surviving are her two daughters, Teresa Cipolla and Rhonda Malary ; step-children, Doug Adams, Marsha Hale, Tammy Lamb, Gailey Chambers; a brother, Bill Holland; a sister, Nancy Staton; grandchildren, Shawn Adams, Corey Ramsey, Andy Burkett, Lane Burkett; five step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

In lieu of traditional services the family invites you to enjoy a piece of fruit cake and cup of coffee to remember her by.
