

A native of Weaverville, North Carolina, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William Arthur Arrowood Jr.; her parents, Susanna Frady McLean and Allison Arthur McLean; her siblings, Margaret McLean Roberts (Dick) and Edwin Ray McLean; and her grandson, Jonathan Scott Conley.
Betty is survived by her two devoted daughters, Deborah Desloge (Robert) and Karen Amrhein (Brad); her cherished grandchildren, Jeremy Conley, Geoffrey Jenkins (Alice), Ashley Jenkins, and Grayson Jenkins; and her adored great-grandchildren, Natalie Conley, Charlotte Jenkins, and Thomas Jenkins.
Betty spent her career as a guidance department secretary at North Buncombe High School until her retirement. With a deep passion for the arts, she devoted her post-retirement years to perfecting her crafts as a stained glass artist, basket weaver, and embroiderer. Betty's love for learning led her to Haywood Community College, where she studied silversmithing—a pursuit that allowed her to showcase her exquisite work at numerous craft fairs throughout the Southeast.
Betty's life was one of creativity and personal expression, and she left a legacy of beautiful art and cherished memories with her family and friends. Her path was uniquely her own and she will be remembered for the distinctive mark she left on those who knew her.
A graveside service will be held at Ashlawn Gardens of Memory in Asheville, NC.
