Bobby Edward Owens

Mr. Owens was born in Robeson County on February 10, 1939 and was the son of the late Woodrow and Geneva Willoughby Owens. He retired from Life of Georgia Insurance Company as a Regional Vice-President after almost forty years of service. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors most especially the mountains and the beach. Mr. Owens always was ready to enjoy a plate of seafood. Bobby was a devoted family man and also very devoted in his faith. He faithfully attended and supported Living Waters Ministries of Wilmington. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Glenda Tompkins Owens, and a son, Timothy Wayne Owens.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Owens of the home; two sons, Bobby Owens, Jr. and wife Cindy of Wilmington and Mike Owens of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; step-son, Chuck Hillenbrand, Jr. and wife Lynn of Wilmington; grandchildren, Crystal, Cari, Josh, Justin, Matt and Andrew; great grandchildren, Landon, Kyndra, Alexandria, Annabelle, Benjamin, Wyatt, Waylon, Nora and Miley; step-granddaughter, Madeline and husband Drake

Graveside services will be held Tuesday November 18, 2025 at one o’clock in the afternoon at Floyd Memorial Cemetery, 1591 Stage Rd. Fairmont, N.C. with Reverend Rick Crocker officiating.
