Carl Wooten

Carl Jackson Wooten, affectionately known as “CJ”, 84, was born December 5, 1936 to Lucy Jane Willard and Carl Wilson Wooten of North Wilkesboro. Carl passed away at home on Sunday, February 28, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.

Carl worked as a federal marshal prior to becoming a heavy equipment operator. He never met a stranger and was always laughing. He enjoyed dancing, bluegrass music, and playing the banjo. Carl also enjoyed making moonshine in his free time and lived life to the fullest with no regrets!

Carl leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Patricia Penuel Wooten; daughter, Krystal Clemmons and husband, David, whom he considered his son and are owners of A+ Tree & Landscaping; three grandchildren, Dale LaShay, Summer Rose, GrayceLeigh Violet, all of Supply; and his dog, Misty.

A private Celebration of Life service will be held for family and friends. A special thanks to White Funeral and Cremation Service.

Daddy I miss you so much... it breaks my heart knowing you’re no longer here with us. I know you’re in heaven smiling down on us & now you can finally be free, no more suffering or pain...the cancer didn’t win...you were there for all of my major milestones from my 1st steps,1st words,1st job,graduations,1st heartbreak,the loss of 2 very important ppl in my life,all 3 of your granddaughter’s being born,walking me down the isle, watching me buy my 1st house,starting a successful tree business and now you’re gone...I hope I continue to make you proud daddy...I promise to take care of mama...now you’re my guardian angel. It’s so hard w/out you here. Your memory will carry on in our hearts & if we have a son we promise to name him after you! This isn’t goodbye, it’s see you later 💕 Until we meet again, I love you daddy.

I am Patricia Wooten Carl's Widow and I will never forget where I first 38 yrs ago . Our place &&we met was at The Northgate Inn Restaurant & Bar. You walked in and passed my table and you told me" Hello Darlin I'm here for you"!!!! You played our favorite song that Willie Nelson wrote 'Always On My Mind" !! We were joined together by Jesus on June 8, 1984. 1 year later we had our beautiful daughter Krystal Ann she was born 2 days after your birthday. She will always be our Squirt-Bert Now & Forever. Jesus also has Blessed Us with your son David & our 3 Beautiful Granddaughters Dale LaShay ,Summer Rose & Graysley Virgibia "Rug Rat" as you left her nick name to be!! I Will Always Love You even if you are in Heaven with Jesus Christ now. Rest In Peace Darling !! Your Surviving Widow Patricia
