I had the privilege and honor to be Bro Ben's Pastor for several years. Bro Ben was one of the most godly men I have ever known. He always had a smile, a hug and an "I love you " for everyone that he met. There is no doubt in my mind of 3 that are in heaven, Bro Ben, Mrs Rachel and Jesus. Keep shouting the victory Bro Ben.

I've known this amazing man since I was 7 years old. He attended the church my dad pastored and he loved the Lord so much. He would pray for anyone and listen to anyone who needed it. He was one of the best friends I've ever had and was there for me when my own blood wasn't. He will truly be missed. I love you so much Uncle Ben.
With love your Krissy

Brother Ben, Such A Gentle Man. You Always Shared Kind Words From A Loving Heart. Open Arms To Hug Everyone And Had A Smile To Brighten Anyone's Day. You Loved Everyone That Crossed Your Path. You Were A Dear Earthly Angel and Now A Heavenly One. You Will Be Missed By Many. You Now Can Enjoy The Song's of The Angel's. Rest In Peace...Gentle Soul...

I met Mr. Ben while working at Scotchman on 421 in Wilmington and he always told me that he loved me. Now sometimes people throw those words around because they sound good but, not Mr. Ben. He truly loved everyone he came in to contact with. He loved getting his Coca Cola and hanging out with us at the store before he went back home or to church. He always said “Jesus loves you and so do I and we’ll meet again in Heaven.” I’m going to miss him and I’m glad I got to meet such a sweet soul. ❤️ Sleep peacefully Mr. Ben.

Sincerely, your darling.

Brother Ben was a member of the church that friends/family and I went to for a long while, and everyone in that church was made apart of each others family. I have many fond memories of Ben, as do multiple members of the youth group that I was apart of. He always made every member, new or present, warm and feel at home. One of my best memories is when me and some of my closest friends (whom I consider sisters) were sitting outside on a beautiful day, and before Ben left he gave me a hug and said, "The reason the Lord's light is shining so brightly today is because of y'alls smiling faces."
He is now apart of the Lord's bright light, he was and always will be such a gentle and sweet soul. We love ya, Brother Ben.

I am Marty Erwin’s daughter; when my mom was very ill just a little while ago and we thought she wouldn’t make it grandpaw Ben, whom loved me even though I wasn't from around the area sat with my mom almost every day that she was in intensive care during her 2 month stay in the hospital. The support and prayers he offered up were invaluable, and he was such a warm and caring person. If I had a question about the lord or needed prayers he was there. Heaven has truly gained a bright light. I only hope to achieve some of the humbleness he had with the lord. My condolences and support for the family and friends. ❤️❤️❤️😇😇😇

I remember one day I was in the dollar tree, I seen Mr. Ben in there I spoke to him on the isle I was on. After he walked off I continued down the isle on the ledge of a shelf sat a dollar bill and a note paper clipped to it. It read Jesus loves you. Im sure he had put it there not specifically for me I just happened to find it. Such a sweet sweet man. He will be missed by many ❤️
