Cheryl was born in Valdosta, Georgia on May 19, 1956 and was the daughter of Hazel Johnson Babson of Shallotte and the late Marvin Johnson.
She is survived by two children, Richard Herring and wife Zackeita of Clayton, N.C. and Carrie Hewett of Kenansville, N.C.; grandchildren, Taylor Hunt(Dakota), Payton Hewett (Jeremy Hart), Raiden Herring and Ava Herring; great grandchildren, Colby and Hazeley; a brother, Van Johnson and wife Pam of Supply; a sister, Terri Mercer of Leland.
