Dale was such a pleasant gentleman and he loved his family so much.  We miss him very much.  He was much more than the mail carrier, he was a friend to us and everyone he came in contact with.

Dale has been our letter carrier for many years. When we first moved to this end of the island, there was no mail box by our house. We thought that the previous owners had a mail box at UPS or somewhere else, so we purchased a mail box and installed it on West Yacht Drive by our drive way. The next day we had a hand written note from Dale indicating that our mail box was located on NW 21st Street. Indeed it was. We thought this curious until Dale explained that his route went south on NW 20th then north on NW 21st. This meant that he did not drive west on West Yacht Drive where we had placed our new mail box. This was the start of a very friendly relationship with Dale. He would put excess mail in a little plastic bag and hang it on our gate, and he would bring packages to our garage when he didn't have to. In other words, Dale was also a neighbor whom we will miss very much. He was kind, friendly, and always went out of his way to deliver the mail. We will greatly miss his smile and kind words. Our sympathies go out to his family -- and we are sorry we just heard about his passing.

My Condolences to the family. Praying for all of you. I knew Dale for a long time when I used to pick up the mail for the Nuclear Plant. He was a real nice guy. RIP my Brother. 

I am so sorry to hear about Dale’s passing. I worked with Dale  at Maxway’s when I was in high school. We always had so much fun & laughter! He was the nicest person & was always so helpful to all the new employees.  Praying for all of the family during this difficult time. May God continue to hold you in His arms. 

He was a genuinely good guy. He was our mail carrier on the Island for years. We are sorry to hear of his passing. Our prayers are with your whole family during this time. Life is short and it passes so fast. We will always remember him smiling, waving and genuinely happy.

A beautiful soul, full of love and faith, ascended to heaven to be with our Savior.  He could not be any prouder of all of you and spoke with love and concern to us about each of you as he battled this last year.  He lived his life well, He loved  well and He touched the lives of so very many people. So very sorry for the loss to your family. Dale was such an outgoing person always with a smile. Prayers for the family.

I met Dale and Natalie at the Post Office 10 years ago, we became good friends and we spent a lot of time together. Sickness had parted us the the last year or so, but we love them very much and will miss Dale so much.

I met Dale many years ago when I worked part-time at the Oak Island Post Office. We were just young ones back then. Since that time Dale and his sweet family have been the male carriers for our home. My husband and myself have had many conversations with Dale out at our mailbox. Through all kinds of weather, good times and not so good times and through health and sickness he has faithfully delivered our mail with a smile, humility and much kindness. Even our dog Bullitt anxiously awaited his daily delivery of treats that Dale’s kids insisted that he deliver.  We wish to express our deepest sympathy and sadness to all his family. Always know he loved you all deeply and talked about you often. He was a very proud husband, father and grand father. He will be missed greatly. 

David and I are so sorry for your loss. As everyone knew Dale was an amazing person and friend to all of us. That smile he had for you and his family was so real. We had the most happy conversation just a month ago with Dale about his grandson. He was truly a family man and dear friend. We will miss him. Prayers to all.


Dear Natalie and Kids,
It has been our greatest honor to know Dale. 
I will miss the joy of searching local stores, hearing boisterous laughter, and following it to find Cary and Dale cutting up wherever they may have found eachother. Mrs. Natalie, There is a beautiful light missing from the world right now, but we know Dale is in the arms of the Lord and we will hear that beautiful laughter again. Dale will never be forgotten, and as always, we remain your friends. I added our number to Dale's phone, please do not hesitate to call us if ever you need anything, no matter how big or small. 

I am so sorry to hear of your loss as well as "our" loss.  Dale was such a wonderful person who was taken away far too soon.   I will always remember your Halloween visits as I watched each of the children grow from year to year.  I'm sure there are no words to adequately express  my condolences  to you, but know that you are in my thoughts and will be remembered in my prayers.  May his Soul Rest in Peace

Natalie and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Dale was such a treasured cousin.  I will always hold on to a special memory of Dale. It was a Sunday night about 10 pm when my phone rang. To my surprise it was Dale calling me from Duke when he was up there. He wanted me to pray for him.  He told me I was his favorite cousin. I cried and prayed with him.  We had a nice long visit. I will always remember Dale as a funny young man who was always happy. I love you all. Please let me know if I can do anything for you all.

Sue and I are so sorry for your loss. We enjoyed our conversations, out by the mailbox with Dale. There will always be a empty place in our heart. We are glad to have been friends with him.
