Donna Kay Whitwam

Donna K. Whitwam of Shallotte, NC, formerly of Moundsville, WV, passed away February 1, 2022. A loving wife, mother, grandma/gram, sister, and aunt, she was born and raised in McMechen, WV, November 5, 1942, to the late William and Kathleen (Gillingham) McGlaughlin. Donna married the love of her life, Charles (Chuck) Whitwam, by whom she is survived, celebrating 59 years of marriage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, father- and mother-in-law Charles and Mildred Whitwam.

Donna devoted her life to being a stay-home mother, attending softball, baseball, football, and basketball games. She attended many Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts adventures, as well as enjoying dance recitals. She then worked at The Green Tab newspaper and later at Wheeling Island Casino, from which she retired.

Donna loved spending time with her children, Paula Whitwam (Jay Thomas) of Moundsville, WV; Tom (Lori) Whitwam of New Bern, NC; and Michael (Cindy) Whitwam of Supply, NC.

More than anything, she was the perfect "Gram." She adored her grandchildren and was so proud of all their achievements. Ryan (Rachel) Whitwam of Woodbury, MN; Shelby Whitwam of Supply, NC; and her adopted grandson Brian (Julie) Henderson of Hilliard, OH.

In addition to her husband, children, and grandchildren, she is survived by her brother Mike (Karen) McGlaughlin of Vienna, WV; sister Therese (Doug, dec.) Overholt of Moundsville, WV; brother-in-law Ed (Sharon) Whitwam of St. Charles, MO; several nieces and nephews; and her dearest lifelong friends Patty Tyler and MaryAnn Henderson of Moundsville, WV, and Judy Balgo of St. Clairsville, OH.

There will be no calling hours, and a private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
