Dorinda Ward Grissom

Dorinda was born on November 19, 1957 and was the daughter of the late William Judson Ward and Geraldine Ray Ward. She enjoyed cooking , working with children and loved her pets. She attended Coastal Community Baptist Church of Wilmington.

She is survived by her husband, Louis Grissom of the home; three children, John Grissom (Brandi) of Kannapolis, N.C., Jennifer Frolick (Joe) of Fishers, Indiana and Anna Heinz (Dan) of Kickapoo, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Andrew Grissom, Adam Grissom, Alex Grissom, Ethan Smalley, Hunter Donoho, Oliver Heinz and Ava Heinz and one great grandchild, Jacob Smalley and her fur baby, Sadie.

Funeral Services will be Monday May 11, 2026 at three o’clock in the afternoon at Coastal Community Baptist Church , 7721 Alexander Road, Wilmington, NC 28411 with Pastor Aaron Lee and Reverend Anthony Clemmons officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 until 3:00 prior to the service.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be directed to Lower Cape Fear Hospice or a church of one’s choice.
