Dottie was born on March 11, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Claude and Alice Short. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Ernie Shirley. Dottie was a member of Goshen Fellowship Church of Leland where she enjoyed her service work and doing projects with her church family. She liked doing crafts, writing poetry, and making new friends.
Surviving are her sons, Alan Shirley of Leland, NC and Curtis Wayne Shirley of Tuscaloosa, AL; daughter, Linda Shirley of Mulberry, FL; sister, Mary Shirley of Hagertown, MD; and six grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
