Ennis Beck

Ennis Beck, 81, of Leland, NC, died peacefully on Monday, March 7, 2016 at home after a 20 year battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia, with his beloved wife of 60 years, Elena Faye (Tharp) Beck, at his side. Ennis was born in Southport on December 28, 1934.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Beck Lucas. In addition to his wife, Ennis is also survived by his five children: Teresa (Curtis) Sill, Edwina (William) Marbley, Rhonda (Steve) Reuter, E. Wynn (Tamara) Beck and E. Glynn (Beth) Beck; and 12 grandchildren: Lauryn, McKenzey, Daryn and Christopher Beck; Kourtney (Robbie) Pittaway; Aaron, Madison and Zion Beck; Bethaya and Sierra Marbley; and Jordyn and Rylee Reuter. He proudly served his country in the US Army 101st Airborne Division from 1954 to 1956.

A graveside internment service will be held on Saturday March 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with military honors at Zion United Methodist Church, Leland, NC.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Zion United Methodist Church, Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or Lewy Body Dementia Association.
