Gwen was born in Columbus County, NC, on the sixteenth of October 1967, to the late James Henry and Wanda Faye Inman. She was a medical records coder for several years. Gwen was a member of Jennies Branch Baptist Church, and loved being on the water especially spending time on their boat the “Salty Dog”. She enjoyed fishing from Key West , FL to North Carolina. She loved music and her favorite band was Aerosmith and anything sung by Steve Tyler. She also enjoyed music from Elvis and ACDC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Elyana Phelps and her first husband, Joey Phelps.
Surviving are her husband “CM” Long; two daughters, Maggie Phelps and significant other Michael Johnson of Shallotte, Holly Long of Shallotte; a son Jacob Patrick Phelps of Shallotte; a sister, Ashley I. Mitchell and husband Mark of Shallotte; a brother, James O. Inman of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; four grandchildren, Hannah Phelps, Noah Johnson, Ben Phelps, Daniel Phelps and a nephew Andrew Mitchell.
A celebration of Gwen’s life will be on Wednesday the ninth of January 2019 at two o’clock in the afternoon in the Jennies Branch Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from one o’clock until two o’clock on Wednesday at the church.
