James "Bo" Ray Mintz

Bo was born July 27, 1951 in New Hanover County, son of the late Marvin Herman Mintz, Sr. and Inez Penny Mintz. He was a veteran of the United States Army. After his military career, he worked for the United States Postal Service until his retirement. He was a loving and caring man who enjoyed spending time with his family. Bo and his wife Cathy were members of First Baptist Church of Leland where he enjoyed attending services, especially the music ministry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ina Marie "Sissy" Richards, granddaughter, Carson Jade Dasher, and nephew Brian Mintz.

Survivors include his wife Cathy Clark Mintz of Leland; children, Deana Milliken and husband Jeffrey of Shallotte, Jamie Dasher of New York, Jamey McGee and wife Jamie of Leland, and Jared McGee and wife Tanya of Leland; grandchildren, Haylei Bruce and husband Rory, Brooke Jones and husband Chris,Trae Garst, Kimber Bryant and husband Nicholas, Keziah Grainger, and Katie McGee; great grandchildren, Annaclaire Jones, Blair Garst, Everleah Garst, Olivia Bryant, and Wrenley Bryant; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and special people that touched his life; three special great nieces, Cameron, Addison, and Brynlee who he text nightly to tell them he loved them to the moon and back; siblings, Marvin H. Mintz, Jr. of Leland and David P. Mintz and wife Betty of Winnabow; sisters-in-law, Gwen Thompson of Leland and Joan Jones of Wilmington.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at eleven o'clock in the morning at First Baptist Church of Leland. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Trae Garst, Jacob Mintz, Justin Mintz, Kevin Mintz, David Mintz, Jr., David Dempsey, and Mickey Thompson.

The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service (from 10:30am until 11:00am) at the church.
