James Derrick van Saders

Jimmy was born in Bogota, New Jersey on August 14, 1969 and was the son of the late James Derrick Van Saders, Sr and Mary Deputch Van Saders. James loved to fish, cook and enjoyed gardening. He was one of the kindest and most giving person that you could ever meet. He especially loved helping others and spending time with his extended River Run Plantation family.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church and attended the local public schools, Florence E. Dewey Elementary and Bogota High School, where he graduated in 1988 and served as class president. He later graduated from Trenton State College in 1993 with degrees in Business and Russian.

He is survived by two sisters, Sheila Slayton, husband Art and a very special nephew, Brodie of Locust Grove, GA and Christine Van Saders of Sacramento, CA. He is also survived by many cousins, aunts and uncles who cherished him.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday March 20, 2026 at 2:00pm at Sunset Harbor Baptist Church, 3867 Sunset Harbor Road, SE. Bolivia NC 28244.
