I was blessed that you chose me as your Mother. I knew you 9 months before this Earth. I sang, read and taught yoga until right before you were born. I remember how amazed the nurses, doctors and staff were at how you could lift and turn your little head before we left the hospital. My heart hurts more than words can express. I miss you and looking into your black jet brown eyes, hearing your laugh and feeling your strong hug. As I always told you I am proud of you just the way you are.

I had the privilege of starting my career with Jeremy. We both attended the WCC Regional Fire Academy Class 18 in January 2007. He was the strongest man I have ever met with the biggest heart of anyone I have known. Jeremy would give you the shirt off his back and was always there for anyone that was in our academy that was struggling. I remember at one of our training drills, I messed up and was hanging by my feet upside down with a rope and when I looked up there was Jeremy making sure I was ok. He showed great leadership skills and he made everyone feel like we were all one big family. Praying for your family and friends during this difficult time. Fly high "Baywatch" we'll take it from here...

I met Jeremy when I came to an educational conference in Wilmington towards the end 0f 2008. Jeremy's mother Debbie and I worked together in the educational publishing business. In a very short time, Jeremy and I bonded over our mutual interest in martial arts. I was impressed with his enthusiasm and passion for the sport. My regret is that I was not able to come back and train with Jeremy.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family. May the Peace that passes all understanding be with them at this hour.

May he forever rest in peace.

From first joining Evolution back in 2008 to seeing Jeremy daily around the beach and driving his truck not a day went by that he didn’t have a smile on his face and a big wave to give. Kerry and Lorna my hearts are broken for you. He will be missed so very much and life around the island will not be the same without him. So honored to have known him and proud of who he was.

Jeremy Owens was my true friend. We had lots of talks on the WB over the last two decades. WB will never be quite the same without him. He saved and touched so many lives. He certainly touched mine. I found out last night while out of town. I drove straight to the fire department tonight when I got back....turned on Bob Marley and just watched that flag flying free in the wind. Heartbroken. RIP my dear friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of Jeremy's family, friends, his Firefighter brothers and sisters and everyone whose life he touched. May he rest in peace and watch down on everyone he loved. He definitely had a huge caring heart to risk his life whether in water rescue, fighting fires, or just being the leader that he was training new Lifeguards to help stranded patrons, all while making a huge difference in the community. All of his duties and he still found time to play parts in the Movies. What a full life. My heart hurts for his family. He was much to young to leave. May he live on forever in your memories and in your hearts. Rest in peace Captain and thank you for your service.

Jeremy was a patient and kind man who took the time to help my son with special needs train his dog. My son looked forward to going over to his house, hanging out and watching the dogs play. My son considered Jeremy his best friend. God bless Jeremy, Rest In Peace.
