My prayers Brandon for you and your family members, I worked with your dad at Long Beach Police Department, as Dispatcher. I grew to love your dad and mom. They were just good folks. My deceased husband, John Dorsett was the SBI agent stationed in Brunswick County. I shall never forget the memories we shared in Law Enforcement with Diane and Jerry. God Bless you in your journey, and always know how much you were loved by your parents. I shall pray that God will fill the empty spot in your heart with precious memories. I owe so much too JD and Dee, I ended a LEO career of 30 + years in 2011. Jerry and Diane got me started in 1978 after working with them for Burns Security at the Steam Electric Plant in Southport. JD was the best partner that I ever worked with, as well as he and Dee 2 of the best friends I ever had. His work ethics and integrity were spot on. I will never forget the good times we had on duty as well as the fishing trips we had off duty. Rest in Peace my friend and give my love too Dee!

Jerry was one of a handful of people I would ride axle to axle with. A fine man he was and will be remembered the respect and honor. There is a saying that an old Marine from WWII taught me, “ Another Marine reporting for duty God, I am in heaven to guard the streets of gold, because I have already served my time in hell”. I know that my friend Jerry is in heaven because of his faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior, but I have no doubt, if the streets need guarding he will step to the front of the line. May God grant peace and comfort to his family, because Jerry has reached his comfort in Jesus.
