Jerry is survived by his soul mate and best friend Deborah Baker Byrd of the home. His sons Phillip Sikes (Melissa) of Lancaster, SC, Jeffrey Sikes (Karen) of Camden, SC, and Shawn Sikes (Amanda) of Wilmington, NC; he has two grandchildren, Brock Sikes and Ariel McAlpine. He also has one great granddaughter, Isabel Wilson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was predecessor by his parents, Hazel Williams and Raymond Sikes, his grandparents who raised him, Harvey and Eunice Williams of Clarkton, NC. Siblings that also predeceased him in death were Roy Sikes of Whiteville, NC, Mary Catherine Williams of Clarkton, NC, Danny Sikes of Louisburg, NC, Michael Sikes of Washington, NC, and Sammy Sikes.
Surviving siblings are Barbara Sikes Smith of Bolton, NC and Janice (Susie) Patterson of Sanford, NC.
Jerry’s outgoing personality was his charm, as he never met a stranger. He proudly wore football jersey number 55 for the class of 1968 Clarkton Warriors.
He loved fishing, both saltwater and freshwater and was said that he could catch fish from a mud puddle. He was a pro behind a set of drums.
Jerry’s light might have gone out here on Earth, but he shines bright in Heaven. He was saved and knew Jesus was his eternity.
There will never be another Jerry…
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 3:00 pm Saturday, July 12th 2025 at White Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service.
