John was born in Mecklenburg County and was the son of the late Edward Lee and Eula Mae Coates Tarbush. John was an avid fisherman and hunter. He always helped others and loved his family.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Tarbush, and son, Patrick Torbush.
He is survived by a daughter, Kayla Torbush of Shallotte; brother, Anthony Torbush, of Waxhaw; and grandchildren, Haize Hempstead and Kamden Hempstead.
