Joyce S. Ward

Mrs. Ward, wife of the late Warren G. Ward, Sr. passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at the home of her son in Calabash, NC. She was born March 6, 1921 in Chadbourn, NC to the late James Arthur and Lucy Yates Saunders. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James A. Saunders, R. Charles Saunders, and Lacy L. Saunders.

She is survived by three sons, Warren Ward, Jr. of Calabash, NC, David (Dawn) Ward of Boone, NC, Mark Ward of Spartenburg, SC, and a daughter, Ann Bullard of Irmo, SC. She is also survived by a brother, Alex Saunders (Jane) of Whiteville, NC and two sisters, Macy (Frank) Spires of Columbia and Betty Hatfield (Aubrey) of Sumter, SC, several beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ward was a member of Union United Methodist Church, Irmo, SC and resided in Irmo for the past ten years. She was a profound lady of faith and loved her God and family.

A special thanks to our friend, Sharon Todd and the staff of Liberty Hospice Services, Supply, NC for the special love and exceptional care they gave our Mother prior to her entering eternal rest. She will be greatly missed and always loved by her family and friends.
