Juanita was born in Columbus County on May 30, 1946 and was the daughter of the late Valton David Harrelson and Ida Ilene Ward Harrelson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. James, a daughter, Felicia Dye and a grandson, Matthew Robert Blackstone.
She is survived by two sons, David James of Goose Creek, South Carolina and Anthony James of Bettendorf, Iowa; a grandson, Daniel Blake James and a great grandchild, Attecus Lee Blackstone; a sister, Emma Ophelia Varnadoe of Crescent City, Florida.
