Laura Jane Benton

Mrs. Benton was born in Horry County, S.C. on January 17, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Zeno and Florence Blanton Ward. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Bright Ward and siblings, Laverne Ward, Charles Ward, Lorraine Long, and Mitchell Hall.She was a devoted, faithful and lifelong member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church of Hickman’s Crossroads. She was a devoted wife, a wonderful mother and grandmother, and loved her family very dearly and enjoyed gardening and flowers. First and foremost she loved her Lord and savior.

She is survived by her husband, Edison Benton; two children, Katrina B. Inman and husband Gene of Longwood, William M. Benton and wife Ann of Shallotte; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Kristy, Joshua, Heidi; three great-grandchildren, Cayden, Kaylee and Sophia; three sisters, Ola Inman of Ash, Elfleta Carlisle of Ash, Cecil Inman of Little River, S.C.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 17, 2016 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church at Hickman’s Crossroads with Elder Michael Gowens officiating. An interment service will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Formyduval, Joshua Benton, Brandon Fulwood, Cody Tharpe, Mark Inman, and Greg Inman. Honorary pallbearer will be Billy Inman.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 6 o’clock to 8 o’clock in the evening on Tuesday August 16, 2016 at White Funeral Service Supply Chapel.
