Mitchell was born February 6, 1947 in Columbus County, son of the late Hugh Nobles and Evelyn Ward Nobles. He worked as a truck driver for many years and was a member of Shallotte Church of Christ. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Benny Nobles.
Survivors include his son, Timothy Nobles of Whiteville; two brothers, Donald Nobles of Fayetteville and Sherwood Nobles of Castle Hayne; sister, Libby Hobbs of Boiling Spring Lakes; and three grandchildren, Dylan, Austin, and Erin.
A private service with family will be held at a later date.
