Manuel Mato Jr.

Manny grew up in Brooklyn, NY and was a graduate of Rutgers University in NJ. His business career was all in the computer industry. He worked for New York Stock Exchange setting up real time stock ticker trading system. He then went to Telerate Systems and was Vice President of Operations. After early retirement, Manny was a consultant for the United States Agency for International Development. He set up stock exchanges in Moscow, Croatia and the Ukraine.

Manny was predeceased by his parents, Manuel and Amelia Mato.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Mary Beth; daughters, Corinne and son –in-law, Ross Luck of Ashland, Virginia, Michelle and son-in-law, Robin Wescott of Windham, Maine; a brother, Richard and sister-in-law, Geraldine Mato of Monroe Township, New Jersey; a sister, Celia Calimano of Staten Island, New York; and many nieces and nephews. He was a proud and loving grandfather of five, Carleigh, Peyton, Davis, Blake and Reed.

A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church at 10:30 AM in Ashland, VA.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that donations be made in his name to the SECU Hospice House, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
