Her grandchildren called her "Mum", which was apropos, because she was like a flower that lit up a room. To them she was the life of the party. She was the first to let them stay up until midnight on New Year's Eve. She got a hotel room at the Four Seasons where they watched the ball drop on TV as they wore party hats and toasted Sprites. It was the first of many times they rang in the New Year together. She hosted numerous parties at her home where friends played "bean bags" (long before it became corn hole.} She bought her grandson his first beer in a restaurant to celebrate his birthday. The legal drinking age was 21. He was 18 and wasn't about to correct her.
Mum loved to laugh, joke and made friends wherever she went. She was special to all who knew here.
She will be buried in Valparaiso, Indiana with her husband and son at Graceland Chapel Mausoleum where a memorial service will be held on Saturday the sixteenth of March 2019 at a time to be announced.
