Mary Simmons Clemmons

She was born June 10, 1946 in Brunswick County. She was the daughter of the late Sherwood and Shirley Holden Simmons of Ash, NC.

She owned and operated Mary's Beauty Shop and, along with her husband, owned and operated Bill's Wrecker Service, in Supply, NC.

She loved her family and enjoyed working in the yard planting beautiful flowers and trees. She was an avid animal lover, talented artist and enjoyed cooking.

She was a great artist and had a talent for musical instruments and her favorite was the piano and guitar.

Enjoyed Gospel and Country music.

Her laughter and smile would light up any room.

She taught her family about the love of Christ. Never wavering in her beliefs.

She attended Supply and Mt. Olive Baptist Church

She is preceded in death by her husband, of 59 yrs William Edward Clemmons, Jr. son-in-law Frederick M. Cayer of Waynesville, NC and sister Doris Bazen (Loranzie-deceased) of Trinity, NC Father Sherwood Simmons and Mother Shirley Holden Simmons of Ash, NC.

She is survived by her daughters, Juanita Cayer of Waynesville, NC and Tamy Clemmons of Supply, NC. Also, her sisters, Maxie Blizard of Asheboro, NC and Wanda Register (James) of Whiteville, NC. Three wonderful grandchildren, Amanda Haynes (David) of Asheville, NC Mollie Rutledge (Bill) of West Virginia and Shanna Bellows (Justin) of Clyde, NC. Along with great grandchildren, Trey Haney, Tiana Sams, James Bellows, Jayce Gulley, Brooks Rutledge, T.J. Rutledge, Devin Haynes and Daegen Haynes

Many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Galloway Cemetery in Supply, North Carolina. The Reverend Anthony Clemmons officiating. The family will greet friends following the graveside service at the cemetery.
