Michael Wayne Cable

"Mike" was a true fighter and his passion for life outweighed any diagnosis ever given.

Mike was the owner and operator of Carolina refrigeration of Hartsville, SC until his retirement in 2014.

Mike is preceded in death by his grandparents, James & Ollie Lee of Charlotte, NC and Otis & Christine Vernon of Reidsville, NC.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of the home, Karen Beth Cable. Mike and Karen were married for 29 years. He often said "if it wasn't for God and Karen, I don't know what I'd do".

Mike is also survived by his parents, Marvin and Kathy Cable of Monroe, NC whom he loved dearly.

To carry on Mike's legacy are his 5 children and 10 grandchildren, Daniel Jordan and his wife, Madison and their children, Maci and Daniel Jr, Tracy Cable and his wife, Holly and their children, Ryleigh, Camryn, and Fynlee, Quinn Cable Mobley and her husband, Sam and their daughter, Karsyn.

Michelle Martinez and her husband, Alberto and their children, Jaxson Quick, Ambiance, Willow, and Marcelino, Bethany Cable, of North Myrtle Beach, his uncle whom he loved so dearly, Ernie Vernon and his wife Erica.

To press forward is the Shallotte Moose Family Center where he enjoyed pool, friendship, food and his best Karaoke.

Mike's compassion for life and will to outlive any diagnosis will never be compared. He loved fiercely. His humor and wit is and will forever be unmatched. His passion was his family at home and his vision for the Shallotte Moose Lodge and Family center.

Mike could play pool with the best of them and although he couldn't physically fix things, he would throw those "baby blues" on it and tell us what to do.

Mike's passion and love for music was incomparable. He ran Karaoke when he didn't feel like it. He showed up when he didn't feel like it. His passions were his missions. Mike's soulful voice will truly be missed. We can't even imagine it being better, but we know it is with a new set of lungs.

The Cable family would like to thank Novant Hospital staff for their unconditional support and exceptional care.

A celebration of life for Mike will be held Saturday, October 12th at 2:00PM at the Shallotte Moose Family Center located at 253 Holden Beach Road, Shallotte NC 28470.

In some of Mike's last words, "One day we will close our eyes to time and open them to eternity".

Mike did just that and is now standing tall and whole.
