Mine Sadiye Huser

Miné was born on November 9, 1953 in Golcuk, Turkey to the late Elmas Derebay and Fwat Nur Yazicioglu. She grew up in Istanbul and was a foreign exchange student at Sequoia High School in Redwood City, CA.

After high school, Miné moved to Oslo, Norway and attended the Sverre Wolff School of Design while working for the famous Peppes Pizza restaurant. She also created window designs for Oslo stores and served as a tour guide and translator in Turkey.

Miné married the love of her life, Mark Huser, on December 11, 1982 in Izmir, Turkey. Mark's Air Force career led their family to O'Fallon, IL and later Raleigh, NC where they resided until retirement.

Miné had a successful career as an interior designer and was also a talented artist and seamstress. She enjoyed photography, painting, drawing, traveling, jazz music, wine, birding, and spending time with her family. She loved the ocean and retired to coastal North Carolina where she collected sea shells and established her art studio, Studio Salt Marsh.

Above all else, Miné was a loyal friend, a devoted wife, and loving mother. She had an unwavering faith in the Lord and loved her family well. She brought joy, music, and beauty into our lives and we will forever be thankful for the gift of knowing and loving her.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Huser; her children Ryan Huser (Megan) and Michele King (Ted); her grandsons Jordan Huser and Will King; two sisters, Tunara Frakes and Aysegul Yazicioglu; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her brother Murat Derebay and her son Jeremy Paul Huser.
