Richard "Rick" Timothy Love

Born in Pell City, AL on July 25, 1944, he was a son of the late Edward L Love, Jr. and Annie Whitten Love.

Richard was retired from DuPont after 32 years of service and after a short retirement he began a job with (IPS) Industrial Pump Service which he really enjoyed. When he wasn’t working he was a dedicated member of his church, Town Creek Baptist Church where he was a trustee, deacon, SS teacher, past president of the Baptist Men’s, director of the Brotherhood and was on the handyman committee. He was also a member of the NC Baptist Men’s and served in many disaster relief events. Rick was an accomplished artist and was known for his woodworking skills and painting; he was also an antique car enthusiast. He served 43 years with Winnabow Vol Fire Department where he was Captain and Chairman of the Board.

Survivors include his loving wife, Helen A. Love of the home; three children; Melissa Love Matson and husband Edward of Apex. NC, Christine Love McElveen and husband Ernie of Leland, NC, Clint Love and wife Mandy of Winnabow, NC; a brother Rod Love of Elberta, AL; two sisters, Sara Ann Rast of Birmingham, AL, Rosemary Hilliard of Tuscaloosa, AL; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Catherine, Sarah, Nicholas, Addison, Jacob and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2: 00 PM, Sunday, January 14, 2018 in the Town Creek Baptist Church with The Reverend V.C. Potter, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

You are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Saturday, the thirteenth of January from six o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening at the funeral home, 603 Ocean Highway, East, Bolivia, NC 29422.

The family requests with gratitude that memorials be made in his name to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice, “Brunswick House” at 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, NC 28422; Town Creek Baptist Church at 832 Green Hill Rd NE, Leland, NC 28451 or the Winnabow Volunteer Fire Department, at POB 195, Winnabow, NC 28479.

Pallbearers will be the senior members of the Winnabow Volunteer Fire Department.
