I remember seeing Russ often in his golf cart, driving the dog around the neighborhood, He always had a kind word and was clearly enjoying his life here.  I'll miss seeing him.  My deepest condolences to your family.

Russ and Marlene lived just down the street from us in Lockwood for over 12 years. They became such good friends. Whenever my husband or I were in the yard and Russ drove by with the pups in the golf cart, he never failed to take time to stop and chat. He was an “easy” conversationalist!  Such great memories, such a shame Marlene has lost the love of her life!  
Those of us lucky enough to have known Russ are better people because of him. 
You will live on in our hearts and minds, dear friend.

Linda and I were totally shocked to learn of Russ's passing. He was a true friend. We had so many good times together since we first meet in high school. There was the BHS track team, riding dirt bikes in Vermont and Pennsylvania, water skiing at Elk Lake, and many nights at the Town Pup in Bloomfield, just to name a few. Whenever I think of Russ it puts a smile on my face.

Russ will be missed as a friend, track and field mate.also a school mate in JR and Senior High in Bloomfield .

I am sitting here in shock as I just learned of Russ's passing. 
Different snapshots of Russ and Marlene are flashing around in my brain.  But the most honest, important memory of Russ (and Mar), is their kindness and loving acceptance of me.  No matter what you did as a career, or station in life, they embraced everyone.
Kindness, happiness, loving is how I remember Russ. 
I will forever be grateful for having had the chance to meet him and visit with them in Greensboro and Supply.
Mar, I am so sorry you lost the love of your life....your other half.

I’ve known Russ since we were kids.  We hung out every summer at Elk Lake.  As adults I’d bring my girlfriend (who later became my wife) to the lake.  A bunch of us would hang out at Russ’ cottage and it was a blast!  Even though we moved to different parts of the country, I have very fond memories of Russ.

You were a big brother to me, always giving me advice on life matters. I will miss you for that. I remember Christmas at Elk Lake sledding down the hill to the frozen lake. Golfing in Greensboro and spending time for the holidays and weekends in the pool. My most fond memories were from Holden Beach, fishing the surf, and when they weren’t biting headed back to Lockwood Folly to fish the river. We had no agenda we just enjoyed what we were doing. I love you like a brother my friend. Rest In Peace and I will see you on the other side. You will be missed by many

Uncle Russ,

I have not seen you in a number of years but some of my greatest childhood memories, you were a part of. I see Elk Lake mentioned in many of these postings. It was truly a special place that I feel confident in saying that all of us have very fond memories of and a big reason for that is because of you.

One of the lasting memories that I will always have of you is many years ago when you lived in Point Pleasant, you had an attic and Kenny, Scotty,  Kathy (I believe), and I went up there to play your drum set and when we were up there the light went out and the door was locked and we were scared out of our minds screaming and rushed up to our rescue.

RIP You are truly going to be missed.

Many of my favorite memories of Uncle Russ is the family gatherings at Elk Lake, Jersey and North Carolina! We all goofing on each other with laughter. Never a dull moment! He loved Aunt Marlene, his pups, golf, the beach.  I’ll never forget my wedding day when it was pouring down rain on my wedding day which was suppose to be outside wedding  and he said to me while I was crying hysterically “ did you know it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day”? 23 years later still married!  Gone way to soon Uncle Russ! See you in heaven!  

I always remember Russ as being an avid competitor in golf. Playing competitive golf was always in his blood. Upon his retirement he had the opportunity to play every day, especially when they moved to North Carolina. He also loved his dogs. Russ and Marlene loved taking the dogs to the beach to run and play. Russ was also an avid fan of the Beatles, along with Marlene. We had a great time when Linda and I joined Russ and Marlene to attend a Paul McCartney concert at Giant Stadium. He also enjoyed teasing me about my constant videotaping of family events, which to some, my taping may have been a little extreme. He always called me Cecil B. DaBob, movie producer.
Russ, may you rest in peace.

My brother always cherished his family and love of life.  He had a very competitive nature, whether it be beating you at a game of monopoly or showing off his athletic talents beating everyone in a backyard game of crochet or badminton.  He loved playing golf and the happiest day of his life was when he got a “Hole in One” and the bragging rights continued for, many years after.
He had two great loves, Marlene, and his Cocker Spaniels.  When he retired and moved to Supply, N.C., that was the happiest time of his life. He used to love to take Marlene and the pups for rides on the Golf Cart to watch the ocean in the evening. You could not pry him from this Paradise home that he loved so much.

I have many fond memories of my Uncle Russ from as a child spending summers at Elk Lake, Pa and holidays in Bloomfield, NJ.
Memories continued as we both got older and he and Aunt Marlene moved to NC.   My uncle is best known to me as my UBB (Uncle Beach Bum). He was honored that title when he retired and moved to Holden Beach where he loved his golf, fishing, tinkering around and cruising  in  the golf cart with his love of his life and his pup. Thank you UBB for your guidance, love and strength you have given me over the years.  You will be be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Although I haven’t seen Russ since we were youngsters growing up at Elk Lake in Pennsylvania, I will never forget him. I will cherish all the memories I have of him. Rest In Peace my friend.
