Steven was born in Kinston, NC on the 6th of September 1969 to the late Nina Kidd Kizer and John Douglas Kizer of Holden Beach. Steven was the owner and operator of the Gravy Southern Eatery of Calabash, NC for twenty one years. Steven was a towering presence that generally prompted more attention than he preferred. Steven stood out in a crowd even more so for his larger than life personality. He loved nothing more than using his dry sense of humor to pick and play with those close to him. Besides being an entrepreneur, he will always be remembered for his giving nature. If someone he loved needed help he, gave without hesitation of question.
Survivors include his father, John Douglas Kizer and wife Claudia Jo Kizer of Holden Beach, NC; two sisters, Karen Kizer Walker and husband Jason of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Stephanie Kizer Cordell of Calabash, NC; four nieces and nephews, Bailey Walker, Nina Walker, Luke Walker and Aiden Cordell all of which he adored.
