Remembering Tami a year later. I have heard that she touched a lot of people's lives, especially with her volunteer efforts. Gone too soon but she will always be remembered. I only met her a few times but I know she was a special person.

One year on, this loss is no less tragic or saddening.  I cannot believe she died so young.  I wish I had made more of an effort to stay in touch and see her over the years.  She was always warm and kind and the world is much dimmer without her.

I miss Tami so so so much.. She was genuine and she was very much  a super nice person. Her vocabulary made me shake- It was enough to shake a planet!!!  She had some hard times - as all of us do - she was wonderful!!! I loved my friend - I still do- she was my “Thelma” and I was “Louis”… we always laughed about that- she lived her mother more than life!!! At least that’s what she would tell me! Karen Dolan - a very cool mom - as I remember Tami saying…..

I’m still trying to adjust to the thought that such a wonderful and close friend is not going to answer the phone anymore. I met Tami when we both worked at a college in the Seattle area. She worked very hard to help push students along in  understanding their studies- (lots of different essays) -and actually bettering their grades.  Tami had a lot of patience and she cared for everyone. Her vocabulary was outstanding!!!!!! I hold her dear to my heart - she was one of the best friends I’ve ever had - I could trust her (and-vice & versa). Our talks over the phone were long and full of substance. A beautiful loving friend I was hoping to see again soon. We nicknamed ourselves “Thelma and Louise” as a little joke. I miss her very very much!!!!!    There’s no one quite like her - my dear friend Tami. 

I’m one of the people who moved with Tami to Seattle in 1998. As part of Tami’s college friend group, I lived with her in a dorm in Ohio, an apartment in Washington, DC, and a house in Seattle. We talked about feminism and politics, struggled to pay our bills, and had lots of fun exploring our cities. 

I always admired Tami’s voracious reading and articulate arguments. At one point I had a girlfriend who admitted she was intimidated by Tami’s intellectual prowess! Tami and I loved being students, and I’m grateful we could support each other as we entered the working world after college. 

I moved away from Seattle for a while and started a family, but long before that Tami was part of my family. I’m sorry I didn’t keep in touch with her and that I didn’t see her in her last few years. Life kind of got away from me, and Tami’s got away from us all way too soon. 

I have not seen Tami in several years but I have many happy memories of her from childhood.  I always enjoyed visiting her and Troy and her parents when they lived in Verona, N.J.  (Visits to the International House of Pancakes were particularly exciting.)  Tami was always sweet and friendly and kind and I know that I am just one among many, many people who will miss her so much.  Years later, when I was stationed on Whidbey Island, Wash., she invited me to spend Thanksgiving with her in Seattle.  I remember this as especially kind and welcome, as I was probably going to have to spend Thanksgiving by myself.  Dinner was delicious and I felt lucky to see Tami and meet her large group of friends.  May she rest in peace.

We didn't know Tami well and hadn't seen her in many years, but what we recall is that she had a genuine sweetness about her. May her light continue to shine thru all of u.
