Born in Brunswick County on Feb. 12, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Mary Etta Evans.
Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Rhodes of Shallotte and Rena Barnhill of Leland; two brothers, Trubie Hewett and Frank Hewett both of Shallotte; a sister, Lena Mae Causey of Shallotte; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, in the chapel of White Funeral and Cremation Service, Supply, with the Revs. Jerome Bullard and Tim Rausch officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at the funeral home.
