Mr. Benton was born November 14, 1953 in Wilmington, son of the late William Marsdon Benton and Mazelle Ludlum Benton. He was the owner and driver of the number 34 asphalt Late Model Stock Car where he spent many weekends. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and fishing.
Survivors include his wife,Tina Benton; a daughter, Tammy Klette; step-son, Shane Sanderson and wife Allie; six grandchildren, Marybeck Sanderson, Mason Sanderson, Brooks Sanderson, Carson Sanderson, Josh Phillips, and Robbie Steadman; two brothers, Kenny Benton and wife Judy, and Jesse Benton and wife Kerrie; an aunt, Julia Lee and husband Danny; and his nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, September 5, 2024 in the White Funeral and Cremation Service Bolivia Chapel. The family will have visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
