William Henry "Sonny" Boykin, age 83, of Supply, NC passed away on Tuesday the thirtieth of July 2019 in the New Hanover Regional Medical, Wilmington, NC. Born in Cumberland County, NC on the nineteenth of October 1935, Sonny was a son of the late Willie and Mamie Green Boykin. He loved music and had previously owned Sonny's at the Beach (now Beach Bumz) at Carolina Beach, NC and Sonny's (now Crazy J's) at Holden Beach, NC. Surviving are a sister, Cynthia Jeannette Smith of Asheboro, NC and his significant other, Rita Sandra Welch of Supply, NC. Services are Saturday, the seventeenth of August 2019 from 2 until 4 PM, at Crazy J's on Holden Beach Road, Supply, NC; a second service is scheduled for Saturday the twenty fourth of August 2019 at Beach Bumz on the Boardwalk in Carolina Beach, NC. I especially want to Thank You for the joy you brought my Mother, Linda Mabe as she always looked forward to visiting Sonny’s as much as possible to hear great music! We loved Sonny and him music so very much when he was at Carolina Beach we would go to his bar every week end and sometime thru the week he knew that I loved to clog so he would always do a good song and say Shirley here's you clogging song we also went to Holden Beach several times. We love Sonny and his music he will be missed

I’m so sorry to the family I’ve had you all in my prayers , I know Sonny up there signing with the angels . I had the pleasure of knowing this amazing man , I used to rent from him he was always understanding if I needed a little more time on rent 😀 and I would go listen to him sign with the boys at his club .
