On Tuesday morning, September 15, 2020, Aaron Deon Partch passed away at age 51. Aaron was born on July 24, 1969 to Rubin and Betty Jene Maton; he was the fifth of seven children and was raised in Detroit, Michigan. He left home to join the Navy at 18 and served his country for four years. Afterwards, Aaron was honorably discharged and then earned a bachelor’s degree in education as well as his teaching credential at San Diego State University. It was during this time that Aaron met the woman who would later become his wife – the sister of his friend, who invited Aaron over for a Christmas dinner. Aaron Maton and Melissa Partch were married on August 17, 2002. Aaron truly found his calling in caring for and teaching young children. Aaron first worked as a sixth-grade teacher at Johnson Elementary, and later returned to teaching as a Co-Director at Concordia Church and Preschool after taking some time off to be a stay-at-home dad. During his 12 years there, he showed great dedication to all the young families he encountered. It was amazing how he took the time to get to know each and every one of the children’s names, their personalities and their parents as well. Every day he shared God’s love through his faith and service to the entire Chula Vista community.
Aaron’s death is preceded by his parents Rubin and Betty Jene, his sister Angela, and his brother Jeremy. He is survived by his wife Melissa, their four children Andrew (25), Michael (22), Anthony (16), and Melia (14), and sisters Renee and Beverly, brothers Rubin Jr. and Gabriel, as well as countless cousins, nieces, nephews and relatives.
