AB Carter was born in Talihina, Okla. on February 10, 1929. He had two sisters. AB moved to South San Francisco, CA with his dad when he was 14 years old. He graduated from So. San Francisco High in 1948. AB joined the Navy and moved to San Diego on the ship, USS Sperry. After four years in the navy as an electrician, AB got a job with Convair and made a career as a manufacturing engineer, Space Division. He met his wife Grace through a friend and was married in 1953. AB and Grace loved to dance throughout their marriage. They had two children: Mike and Brenda, three grandsons: Chris, Josh and Adam, and four great-grandchildren: Azren, Ireland, Zakkary and Kylee. AB and Grace where married for 59 ½ years. AB was a member of La Mesa Elks Lodge #168 and a member of Convair Alumni Association. He worked at General Dynamics/Convair for over 40 years. We will all miss him!
