Sunday at tia Isabel’s house, walking in with a bag of flaming hot Cheetos. Wearing Charger jerseys as we rooted for our team. Typical of the Chargers, they took us on a rollercoaster ride as they always ended up losing the lead... 4th quarter , 4 minutes left losing by 3 touchdowns... you would remind us all that “Anything can happen!!” We knew we wouldn’t really come back to win the game but that quote became yours and it just became part of our Sunday’s .. losing by 30 points last 3 minutes all while listening to you shout “Anything can happen, anything can happen !” It made us all laugh and forget about the pains that came along with being Charger fans.

The story above defines who you were, a young man always bringing a smile to everyone’s face. A young man proud to represent his family , always showing kindness, wanting to make everyone proud. You made us all proud and you will continue to do so because you have a place in each of our hearts. No matter how far away you are from us, you are with us. I feel you, we feel you close.... and your legacy will live on. You will be there for us when we need strength, when we need guidance and when we need an angel in our life to keep us safe. I love you cousin, and I’m proud of the man you became. May you be resting in peace, knowing you brought so much love to our family and to anyone who you crossed paths with. We will miss you everyday, and when I find myself losing hope or finding it tough to accomplish something and believe , I will always carry on without giving up hearing your voice saying “Anything can happen, anything can happen!”

Ivan,
Losing you has been the greatest heartbreak our family has ever known. My memories of you have turned into treasures that I will cherish forever. You brought so much light to our little tribe of cousins. I’ll miss the days where you & Mikey would walk me home, my bodyguards haha. I’ll miss waving to you in the hallways of Hilltop. But most of all I’m going to miss giving you a hug at every family event. You had such a big heart my angel, if only you understood how much you were loved. I’d give anything to assure you of that. But I find comfort knowing that our grandpa has you in his arms now. I love you Pa, until we meet again ❤️

My sweet Ivan,

All of this feels like a bad dream that I’m unable to wake up from. As I think of you, I feel my heart bleeding and I also feel so much love. I feel so grateful to have had a kind, sweet, silly, and cool little cousin. You brought me so many laughs and great memories when you and Danny were together, growing up as kids. I loved you like a son. You grew up to be an amazing human being. I will miss you every single day of this life. You will always be here in our hearts, we will never forget you. Until we meet someday little cousin.

Love,

Veronica

I remember one day we were hanging out at grandma’s, I took you and Jr with my dad to get you guys a haircut. I had just got my license, so you were probably 6 years old. My dad gave you guys the classic comb-over, you guys looked so handsome. Especially you with the light skin and blonde hair! I know it can be hard being away from family and being lonely, but you were never alone. I wish you knew how much you were loved, and much you are going to be missed! Rest In Paradise, I love you cousin!

My brother from another mother. I’m so thankful for all the memories that you’ve given me and the time that we got to spend with one another. When I think of you, all that comes to mind is that contagious laugh and your smile that brightens up the whole room. You are so special and I wish I could tell you how much you meant to me one more time. I love you bro, rest easy.
